Some Baetis hatching in the mid-morning. Overall the fishing on the creek is a little tougher due to the thick weeds, and the flows are lower due to the lack of snow pack or rain. Short drag free drifts and light tippet will be in order to hook the phd trout. I would use 6x/7x tippet as the water is clear and the fish have been seeing flies from March 1 (as CADFG changed the regulations allowing winter fishing). Plenty of habitat for the young trout with lots of vegetation to hide under. Fish will be holding in the open pockets and lanes when out feeding.
