Best Fishes to all for this week of the Crowley Lake Fishing Report. This week the 1st Annual Stillwater Classic went down here at the lake and what a fine tournament this turned out to be. ??With over 116 participants that competed this was no doubt the place to be this weekend. ??The overall winner for the 1st Annual Stillwater Classic in the individual category goes to fellow angler and friend Jason Fazio. Jason scored 19 points and edged Frank Murata by one point to take the overall lead in the annual Stillwater Classic and claim the honors of "Lord of the Fly"! ??Also, scoring first place in the team category was Team Trout Fly #1 Craig Higa and Ted Fukahara which scored a total of ten points to take home first place and $2,000 cash money. ??The runner's up in the team category were Joel and Seth Cline and Glen Tagami and Mike Hamamura who tied for second with each of the teams scoring 9 points and splitting the purse of $1,000. ?? Good job guys! ??I also want to personally thank all of the participating sponsors this year for all of their generous contributions that made the raffle go so well. ??We had some really great raffle prizes and this really contributed to the overall outcome of the tourney. Thanks, again! ??We raised close to $10,000 dollars total and all of the proceeds will go towards the purchase of brown trout fingerlings from the Inland Aquaculture Group and will ensure that Crowley remains the crown jewel of the Eastern Sierra.

Now, for all you fly fisher's out there here is the scoop. ??This week has been a fine week to be a fly angler. ??With cool mornings, abundant midge hatches, damsel fly migrations and perch fry migrations this in turn has produced some great days on the water. Crowley is fishing nothing short of epic right now and there have been some very big fish brought to the net this week while nymphing under an indicator and also tugging streamers. ??The areas that I would concentrate on this week would be McGee Bay in 7-14 feet, Green Banks in 7-13 feet, Crooked Creek in 7-15 feet, and Little Hilton in 8-16 feet. ??The flies that I would suggest for this week are as follows. ??For nymphing I would suggest Sierra Drifter's Chrinomids in #16-18 crystal copper zebra's, black tiger's, copper tiger's, gillies, and the punk perch. ??Also, I would suggest Stevie's Wonder chironimids in #16-18 Stevie's Z, black/silver, gray/black, olive/silver, and tan for the mid-day pupa grab. ??For those of you pulling streamers out there I would suggest fishing a size #10-16 punk perch, loeberg, damsel nymph, or a crystal leech on a intermediate sink line in the mornings and late evenings and then switching over to a Type 3 or 4 full sink in the afternoon in order to nail that big fish. ??Remember, 3x to your point fly or you will get broken off! ??Good luck my fellow anglers!
