The fishing season at Pyramid Lake is officially underway, although the bite has been slow to start. Most fish are still holding in deeper water around 50–80 feet, making boat fishing with downriggers the most productive approach. Anglers fishing from boats or float tubes are finding success stripping vertically through these depths using balanced leeches, balanced minnows, heavy spoons, and heavy Woolly Worms. Shore fishing remains challenging while fish continue holding offshore. As temperatures cool throughout the fall, fish should gradually move into shallower, more accessible water. Shore fishing opportunities are expected to improve noticeably during November as colder conditions settle in.
