This week looks to be another fine week to be on the water here at Crowley. Some of the larger models of fish are starting to show in some of the major inlets to Crowley Lake. These fish are preparing for their annual spawning migration and are beginning to stage in the flats and bays here at Crowley. This is one of the best times of the year to fish here at Crowley for the fact some of our largest trout of the year are caught in the fall and also their just aren't that many anglers on the water at the present time which in turn produces an epic fall fishing trip for you, so get your tail up here and enjoy the beautiful days of fall.

Fishing has been very good on the calm days here at Crowley and if you hit it just right you are sure to have a great day. The areas that I would concentrate on this week would be Leighton Springs in 8-13 feet, McGee Bay in 7-12 feet, North Landing in 6-12 feet, and Six Bays in 6-14 feet. The days have become cooler over the past few weeks and I would suggest your start time be around 8:30-9:00 in order to hit the midge emergence just right.

The flies that I would suggest for this week are Stevie's Wonder's in #16-18 gray/black, olive/silver, and Stevie's Z. I would also suggest Sierra Drifter's chironimids in #16-18 light gillies, copper tiger's, copper crystal emergers, and copper zebra's will surely get you bit. For those of you stripping out there I would suggest a type 3-4 full sinking line. The flies that I would suggest pulling are #10-14 loeberg guinea, krystal leeches, and krystal bugger's in olive, black, and brown. 3x and hold on.
