This week is shaping up to another great week here on Crowley as the midge emergence has been consistent and the fish have been on the grab as of this report. The D.F.G. stocking program has started their allotment for this season and these little fellows are making a strong showing in all of our shallow bays and flats here on Crowley. Be sure to bring an extra layer and some head gear for the boat ride to the hot spot in the morning as our temperatures in the a.m. hour have been quite chilly but soon after your arrival things start to warm up as the sun makes it's way onto the horizon.

The areas that I would concentrate on this week would be McGee Bay in 8-13 feet, Sandy Point in 6-13 feet, The Hilton's in 6-12 feet, and?ĮLeighton Springs in 7-14 feet. I would suggest your start time be ?Įaround 8:30-9:00 a.m. in order to insure an enjoyable day on the water.

The flies that I would suggest for this week are Stevie's Wonder's in ?Į#16-18 Stevie's Z, olive/silver, ruby midge, and gray/black. I would ?Įalso suggest Sierra Drifter's chironimids in #16-18 copper zebra's, gray ?Įpupa, light gillies, and black zebra's will surely produce a few fish ?Įfor you under the indicator. For those of you stripping out there I ?Įwould suggest a Type 4-5 full sinking line in order to patrol the bottom ?Įas most of the larger fish will be keyed into bait fish pattern's at ?Įthis time of the year and this method of fishing will surely produce ?Įsome trophy size fish. I would suggest Krystal Leeches, Hornbergs, ?ĮLoebergs, krystal buggers in olive, brown, and black and Denny's ?Įstillwater nymph in order to produce a few fish. 3x and hold on.
