No real change! Planter in the upper, mid and lower areas of the river. The Upper Owens River has only been fishing well. There are some nice fish being hooked but you will have to cover some water. Conditions are clear and low at the present time. There are some bugs hatching Trico and Caddis a few Bwos. The smaller fish are mostly taking on the surface but keep your eyes peeled as a larger fish or two might come up to the surface. The area below the Benton Crossing Bridge to the monument is open. Early and late are the best times to fish, with some good Caddis action if the wind lies down before dark! At the mouth of the Owens and Crowley there have been some great Calibeatis action, along with Midges and Tricos. Bad news is the lake is receding fast. Mosquitoes have been a problem in the upper part of the river.
The Upper Owens River is under special regulations. It is best to look at your CADFG regulation booklet for current updates.
