With the warm weather the high country is experiencing, fishing has been best early and late. Most of the little yellow Sally Stone Flies have hatched; now the action has turned to the Trico Mayflies Spinners, the female duns in the mornings along with the Caddis. Some Baetis hatching in the mid-morning. Overall the fishing on the creek is a little tougher due to the thick weeds, and the flows are lower due to the lack of snow pack or rain. Short drag free drifts and light tippet will be in order to hook the trout. The wind has not been a factor until the afternoon on most days. The thunderstorms may help with some cooling in the afternoons, but may have gusty winds accompanying them along with lightning - use caution. I would use 6x tippet as the water is clear and the fish have been seeing flies from March 1 (as CADFG changed the regulations allowing winter fishing).
