Best fishes to all for this week of the Crowley Lake Fishing Report. ?ĮWe have had another fine week of fishing here at Crowley Lake. The weather ?Įhas been extremely nice this past week with warm spring days climbing into ?Įthe mid 60's this has made for some great catches throughout the week. The ?Įsurface temperature this week was around the mid 50's in the morning with the ?Įmid day temps climbing into the lower 60's. The catching has been very ?Įconsistent in the mornings and throughout the afternoon as long as the blessed ?Įwind does not come up and blow you off the lake. I look for this Memorial Day ?Įweekend to be a great time to be on the water. With the weather forecast ?Įpredicting high's in the mid 60's I am looking for lots of sunshine and great ?Įcatches for the weekend. Let's keep our fingers crossed. As I mentioned in ?Įthe last fishing report, the fish are still very leader shy right now. So, ?Įthe hot tip for the week is running 2 lb. running line with a 2 lb. fluorocarbon ?Įleader and this will ensure a greater catch rate for all anglers. Now for the ?Įserious business. For all you still fisher's out there here is the hot ticket. ?ĮI would suggest fishing the areas of Alligator Point in 20-25 feet of water, ?ĮGreen Banks in 15-20 feet of water, West Shore of McGee in 20-25 feet of water, ?Įand also Big Hilton in 25 feet of water. The hot baits for the week are as ?Įfollows. Berkley's Gulp in Rainbow Candy, Chunky Cheese, and Orange Pulp has ?Įbeen producing this week. Also Berkley's Gulp Eggs in chartreuse and white ?Įhave been very consistent. Also, Berkley's power bait in the colors of lemon ?Įtwist, lime twist, spring green, and yellow have all been producing nice catches. ?ĮAlso the classic inflated night crawler is always a good bet here on Crowley Lake. ?ĮNow for all you trollers out there here is the low down. The most consistent troll ?Įthis week has been with 3 ?? to 4 colors. The lures that have been producing for ?Įus this week have been size 2 needlefish in the colors of red dot frog, silver shad, ?Įlime green/fish scale, pearl/bikini, and shiny yellow watermelon. Also Rapala cd-3's ?Įand cd-5's in the colors of gold/fluorescent red, brown trout, silver/black, and ?Įrainbow trout have been producing. Also another consistent lure is the Owner Mira ?ĮShad and Ripping Minnow. I would try the colors of Black Pearl, Shiner, Flame, ?Įand Pink Passion in order to nail that big fish. Now on to the perch fishing ?Įreport for the week. I have witnessed some nice catches of perch here this week ?Įwith lots of fish being found along the west shore of McGee and also along the ?ĮGreen Banks area of the lake. These fish like to concentrate in the areas of ?Į4-12 feet of water to prepare for their annual spring spawn. I would suggest ?Įcoming by the shop in order to pick up the hot colors for our Berkley soft baits. ?ĮI look for the perch fishing to be coming on real strong this week as well as ?Įinto the 3rd week of June. Now for all you fly fishers out there here is the ?Įskinny! The midge emergence for this week has been great! The fish have been ?Įkeying in on the larva in the mornings and then switching over to pupa patterns ?Įfor the afternoon. The areas of the lake that I would concentrate on would be ?ĮSandy Point in 12-16 feet of water, McGee Bay in 12-15 feet of water, Big Hilton ?Įin 12-15 feet of water, and Green Banks in 10-14 feet of water. The flies that ?ĮI would suggest using would be size 16-18 Sierra Drifters olive zebra's, copper ?Įzebra's, and black tiger's in the mornings and then switching over to Stevie's ?ĮWonder's in the afternoons. The colors I would suggest for Stevie's Wonder's ?Įare black/silver, black/red, gray/black, and also tan have been producing in ?Įthe afternoons. Also Sierra Drifters copper crystal emergers, gillies, and ?Įblack copper emergers in sizes 16-18 have been very consistent. Now for all ?Įyou folks stripping out there I would suggest using a type 4-5 full sinking ?Įline in order to get your flies into the fishy zone! I would suggest pulling ?Įhornbergs, loebergs, crystal leeches, hale bop leaches, and crystal buggers in ?Įbrown, black, olive, and purple. I would suggest the sizes of 10-14. Also, ?Įthis weekend our rental boats are filling up fast so if you are thinking about ?Įcoming up you should definitely make a reservation.
