Another season is upon us ??? are you ready ??? we hope to be ready by Saturday. This Saturday ??? boy did the winter fly by or what! We hope you all had a GREAT winter ??? we did ??? just a bit too short, we sure are ready to see you all. Enough of that ??? on to the fishing news.

The lake is currently iced over. There is a bit of open water at the Dingleberry Inlet (back right had corner). Rick thinks the ice is about a foot thick ??? the weather has been awesome low 60s for the past few days, so he thinks the ice is starting to get rotten. If Howard's (our local weather guesser) report holds the temps are going to drop, with the wind kickin' up, and maybe a bit of precipitation. You may want to check it out your favorite weather guesser or try Howard's forecast at www.MammothWeather.com

The Bishop Canyon creeks are loaded with fish being stocked by the Department of Fish and Game. Intake II is wide open with a few spots of snow around the lake (although those may be gone by now). The road to North Lake is still closed and we haven't heard any rumors on what North Lake looks like. Sabrina Camp is closed as is Bishop Park and Willows on the South Lake side. Intake II, Four Jeffrey, the Forks, Big Trees and BitterBrush (the new low campground between power plants 2 & 3) are open.

Back to the fishing report ??? try your normal old stand-bys, try something new, throw the kitchen sink at it, then come up to the Lake ??? have a refreshment and tell us what worked!

NEWS ??? We hired a couple to help us at the Lake this season, Bryon and Linda Franks. They'll start the weekend of May 15th. YIPPEE! !

All the animals survived the winter. Hi's marbles seem to be falling out, he's gimping around and gettin' a bit hard of hearing (sort of sounds like me), Rick still has his last screw where he can see it, Lo's hairy as ever, Nimrod is becoming more of a cog and Juanita holds us all together ??? thank goodness! We'll all be here for the season, God willing and the ???lake' don't rise too much!
