Fishing season for the reservoir ended on November 15th 2007. Make your plans for next year as the season reopens the last Saturday of April 2008....

Do your snow dances for this winter. A few good storms in the Sierra will bring lake levels back up.

The fishery seems healthy and a lot of stocking was done in October. An up and down year as far as the fishing goes. Started out good then went to average then better and slow during the fall. Many factors contribute to the fish bite. Water level, temperatures, O2 content, weather patterns and levels of the lake. There were huge bug hatches this past year and in the fall the fish were feeding heavily on the perch.

The East Walker, Hot Creek and the Upper Owens are open all year. Special regulations apply. Always keep an eye on the weather if venturing to these water.
