Despite the crazy weather this week, the fishing has been quite fine at the lake.  Being one of the only lakes open in the area, Fish and Game are stocking the lake and the creek weekly with fish from the Fish Springs Hatchery in Big Pine.  The water temperature is around 45 degrees. The bite has been good on Pinch Crawlers, Mouse Tails, and Gulp Garlic Floating Nightcrawlers.  Thomas Bouyants and Roostertails were doing well for lures.

Fishing Tip of the Week

Berkley Gulp Alive Floating Pinch Crawlers are more potent than any other nightcrawler imitation.  Pinch crawlers are ideal bait to use when the bait is hot on top.  At the end of the day you can return your Gulp Pinch Crawlers to their jar to recharge them for your next outing.

To string them up, use 4-6 lb. test line with a size 6 or 8 single hook.  Tie the hook straight to the line with a cinch knot and use a 1/8 oz. sinker attached 18 inches above the hook.  Cast in 20 to 40 ft. of water. Just let it sit and wait for a bite!

Weather

This has been quite the crazy week for our weather. Thursday we got 4 inches of snow and Friday was a gorgeous spring day.  Snow returned on Saturday night and continued off and on Sunday.  The forecast is not too promising for the coming week with rain or snow showers predicted everyday from Tuesday through Saturday.  The temps will be in the high 20's at night and the mid to high 50's during the day.
