Truckee River Flows @Boca 301 cfs @Farad 306 cfs @Reno 245 cfs

The Truckee has picked up a little bit and there are a few nice fish being caught. The key to hooking up is to fish slow and deep with a wide variety of different nymphs and streamers. Presentation is more important than having the perfect fly. The fly must be right in the fishes face to get the grab! Exercise a little patience as you fish, making sure that each piece of likely looking water is covered very thoroughly. Try places where there is a decent flow of water with areas of slower water directly below them where fish can comfortably hang out.
Dead drifting a combo of a large nymph followed by a smaller nymph is the most effective but dead drifting streamers can be very effective too.

BEST FLIES FOR THE TRUCKEE
Copper Johns 16-20, Bead Head Pheasant Tail Nymph 16-18, Mercers Poxy Golden Stone nymph 6-8, Wired Caddis Amber 14-16, Scudaddis 14-16, Gold Ribbed Hares Ear 12-18, Wooly Bugger 6-10, McCunes Sculpin 6
