Wiggin's Trading Post at Chilcoot, Calif. (530-993-4683): Fishing from the bank continues to be good for those floating nightcrawlers off the bottom at Lunker Point and at the dam. We've seen some nice rainbows in the 2-pound range. The reservoir is not frozen over but there is some ice here and there. ?Į

The cold weather and a plant of 1,750 pounds of trout last week has turned on the fishing. Another ton is going in this week. Henry Yamaoka of Gilroy caught the big fish of the week, a 12-pound, 10-ounce trout. Right behind that catch was Domingo Sarmiento of Union City, who caught a 10-11 trout.
