Because of the recent mild temperatures, the surface ice has receded on Mammoth Creek, the Sevier River and Asay Creek. Trout get a little sluggish in winter, but fishing can be fair to good if you target deep pools. Whitefish can also provide good winter fishing. Recent surveys found good numbers of brown trout, rainbow trout and whitefish in the upper Sevier River (in Hatch) and Asay Creek (along Highway 89). Call the Circle Valley Anglers fly shop at 435-577-2168 for up-to-date conditions and fishing reports.
