It was an excellent fishing opener weekend and everyone is looking forward to an exciting 2014 fishing season. Many happy anglers came by the store with full stringers and limits both on Saturday and Sunday. Below we posted some of the larger fish of the weekend. Over the opener we were getting reports from satisfied anglers that the fishing was "on fire" back at the Inlet. A group of anglers divulge that they caught and released over 80 fish at the Inlet. Another angler told us he was hooking scores of fish on a Marvel fly and bubble rig. The biggest he reported was a 2 pound plus Brown Trout which he released back into the lake. Special thanks go to Bart Hall who donated the $500 for the first place prize in the Fred Hall Largest Fish at Convict Lake Derby. Bart didn't too bad out on the lake himself. Bart hooked a nice rainbow on his second cast. He was throwing a Kastmaster along the North Shore.

Every Saturday this season I'll be sending out Convict Lake's weekly fishing report.

Stay tune....
