With boats on the water and the ice finally gone, anglers have been able to access areas of the lake that haven't been fished yet this season. The bite has been extremely good at all of the seasonal inlet streams as well as the main inlet towards the back of the lake. The rainbows are definitely in spawning mode and salmon eggs are really producing well anywhere there is water rushing into the lake. Pink Gulp Worms and Orange Powerworms have been very consistent for folks using artificials, especially from shore by the launch ramp or in Boiler Cove. Trolling this week produced a lot of browns in the 11 to 14" range but nothing big as of yet. CD-7 Rapalas, Thomas Bouyants, Gold Kastmasters and Wooly Buggers trolled on top were all productive.

The DFG has not stocked yet this season so all the fish being caught are beautiful holdover fish and many of the rainbows are acrobatic when hooked. We will be stocking trophy rainbows in the lake this week in addition to a load of Alpers being stocked for the Summer Classic Fishing Derby. DFG fish will likely be stocked the week of the 21st.
