Lake Tahoe is steady for kokanee, mackinaw, and trout. Surface temps are mid-60s, and kokanee are stacking on the west shore between DL Bliss and Sugar Pine, 40–60 feet down. Fish are topping out around 17 inches, and trollers running dodger-and-hoochie rigs are doing well. Mackinaw are deeper, holding in the 60–130 foot range in the west shore, near the Cal Neva Hole, and around South Lake. Larger plugs and jigged minnows are producing, with some fish running into the teens. Trout are showing around 100 feet for trollers, with Rapalas and spoons being effective. Shore anglers are occasionally connecting with trout 30 feet off the bank, especially in the mornings. Boat traffic has dropped off since summer, but the best fishing still comes early and late. Tahoe continues to offer variety, making it a strong option for anglers chasing everything from kokanee schools to deepwater macks.
