Fishing has been very good at Spooner this season for both quantity and quality trout. Some reports of tigers up to twenty inches on dry flies, no kidding. Chub populations are still strong, but the tigers are clearly starting to take advantage of their overwhelming presence. Streamers trolled behind float tubes will pick up fish most of the day in open water. Some weed beds still exist, but shoreline fishing should start to open with the freezing nights on the way. Salmon eggs under bobbers and nightcrawlers off the bottom tend to be the bait of choice. Spin fisherman using bright panther martin style spinner have caught fish from shore and tubes.
