The first few weeks have provided some great fishing, and the pattern should continue for sometime. The opening day crowds have came and gone, leaving minimal pressure this time of the year. The water clarity around the lake is between 8-10ft which is the best it will be all season. The water temps are also at the coolest they will be for the season, with surface temps in the low 50's in the morning and rising during the day. These are optimal conditions for the Crowley Lake trout to not only feed aggressively, but also give you their full power during the fight. The midge hatches have been abundant throughout the entire lake, with the peak of the hatch coming between 9-11am. Fish have been being caught from as shallow as 7ft out to as deep as 25ft. Our prime focus has been in the 13-15ft range during the peak of the hatch and sliding out to 17-19ft during off times. Now is the time of the season that the larger rainbows are putting on aerial shows and showing anglers their backing quite often. With good numbers of hard pulling large fish, it's hard to beat Crowley this time of the year.
