DFG and Alpers stockings this week helped out the bite considerably but the higher flows are still making things a little more difficult to fish the smaller pockets and pools. Parchers Hole, Willow Camp and the TyeeBridge have been the most dependable spots. Weir Pond got a dose of Alpers on Friday and the fishing was simply outstanding there on Saturday. South Lake Staffer Ryan Wischnack of Santa Clarita, CA caught and released 16 Alpers to 3lbs on Saturday.

Mid August is here and with the return of the warm summer weather, it's officially trolling time at South Lake. Most of the anglers who scored good numbers of fish were going deep for them. The downrigger and lead core folks were doing best finding the fish suspended in about 30ft of water.
