Catch of the Week:

Dave Little from Rosamond, CA with a stout 7 pound 7 ounce Rainbow. He caught this beast with a Kastmaster while fishing along the North Shore. Way to go Dave!!

Other notable catches this week:

Nick Downard from Ojai, CA landed a fat 6 pound 8 ounce Rainbow while fishing near the marina. Nick hooked this lunker with a Nightcrawler.

John Flynn and Joe Klahorst from Fullerton, CA each hooked a nice Rainbow.They both were fishing at the Inlet with a Thomas Buoyant. John (on the left) landed a 6 pound 6 ounce Rainbow and Joe with a 5 pound 6 ounce Rainbow.

Mark Valencia from Paramount, CA caught two quality fish. The largest was a 6 pound 1 ounce Rainbow. Mark was using a Nightcrawlers and was fishing the South Shore.

Greg Yudt of El Sugundo, CA landed a nice 5 pound 8 ounce Rainbow while jigging a White Mice Tail. Greg was fishing at the South Shore.

Tactics/Bait: Inflated Nightcrawlers was the top bait this week. Some of the top lures were Thomas Buoyants, Kastmaster and Mice Tails. The top colors for the lure/jigs were red, white and pink. The top Powerbait color was Rainbow. The "Catch of the Week" was caught at the North Shore. Other locations to try would be the South Shore, Inlet, Jetty/Outlet Area and Hangman's Tree.

Here is a list of other baits/lures that can be productive:
Sierra Slammers, Tasmanian Devil, green or brown Marvel Flies , Trout Teasers, Panther Martin, NeedleFish, Rooster Tails, and Bite-On Fury Shad on Powerbait.

I would suggest using some type of added attractant. Pro-Cure, Bite-On, Lip Ripperz and Berkley all make excellent attractants, which are sold at the general store.

Here is a list of recommended flies:
Dry Flies: Adams, Female Adams, Cutter's Caddis, Elk Hair Caddis, Stimulators, Black/Red Ants, Sierra Bright Dot, Royal Coachman and Hoppers.

Streamers: Wooly Bugger (black, brown, olive, or green), Mutuka (black, brown, olive, or green), Hornberg, and Muddler Minnows.

Wet Flies(Nymphs): Prince Nymph, Flashback Pheasant Tail, Hare's Ear, Zebra Midge (red and black), Copper John (red and copper) and San Juan Worm (brown or red).

Weather: The high temps for the start of next week will be in the high-50 and the lows in the low-30.

Sunrise - Sunset: Sunrise this week 7:12am - 7:18am and Sunset 6:08pm - 6:01pm.

Daylight savings ends on November 1st. remember to set your clocks back next Saturday night.

Stocking: The resort is scheduled to stocked 400 pounds of trophy trout on Thursday, October 29th. This is right before the cash bonus weekend derby.
