Baum Lake - Cassel, CA (Shasta County)

Fishing is fair to good. Blue wing olives and midges in the morning are producing good numbers with a parachute BWO dry attached to a midge dropper. Best tactic is to anchor a pontoon boat or float tube off the main current drifting a dry/dropper in the main current where trout are rising. Rainy and cloudy days are fishing best with extended hatches of BWO’s. Sunny days produce some callibaetis in the afternoon but the best is still to come. If hatches slow, switch to a streamer on a sink tip line. Fish First (530) 343-8300
