Stampede can be a little tougher to figure out using fly gear, but with the larger size of this lake, the fish too can be larger than what’s found in our other waters. It’s definitely worth putting in time figuring out both the bass and trout in here if you’re trophy hunting. Using a boat out here will serve you better than a float tube due to it’s size, and covering water is a great way to find hotspots.

Fishing around Stampede dam is always a great place to start, but some of the arms such as Davies Creek arm, Sagehen Creek arm, or the Little Truckee arm are also good options.

If you would like to go fishing with us please check out our website Trout Creek Outfitters.com or call (530) 563-5119.
