The fishing remains excellent on the river. Perfect flows and lots of bugs have been the norm of late.

California - There is more water coming out of Lake Tahoe now. Flows are 240 CFS through the town of Truckee and the fishing has really improved in the upper river. The flows remain in the 550 CFS range in the Lower California sections down to Mogul. Nymphing with dead drift crayfish patterns, golden stones, little yellow stones and caddis have all been working well during the mid morning. In the evenings, the caddis and little yellow stones have been hatching about an hour before dark. But stay till dark!

Nevada - Flows are excellent from the Stateline down through Reno. NDOW has planted the river a few times and the fishing has been outstanding. All of the parks in and around Reno have lots of fish. The flows are in the 450 CFS range. Nymphing with size 16 caddis and little yellow stone nymphs have been working well. In the evenings the hatch is very similar to California but it is a little shorter. The morning water temperatures are perfect if you are an early riser.
