Rainbow bite remains strong in Mexican Gulch, Fleming Bay and, Middle Bay. Target depth is 40 to 50 feet. Small Ex-Cel lures, spinners or Micro Hoochies scented with garlic shoe peg corn get rainbows to three pounds. Kokanee are scattered, off the face of the dam, off School House point and off Big Oak Island, Kokanee Killers, Sockeye Slammers or spinners fished with a short leader behind Vance’s, Sling Blade or Wild Thing dodger. Preferred scent this week was garlic, vanilla, krill or ginger scented shoe peg corn with the target depth 60 to 100 feet. King salmon are showing off the dam and in the river channel moving up the reservoir. Try rolling shad or anchovies for kings to three pounds. Monte Smith (209) 848-2746.
