Bass have been picking up over the past couple weeks along the shorelines and sandy banks throughout the lake, biting a variety of soft plastic baits and jigs along with jerk baits, crank baits and some top water bites on the cloudy mornings.

Stripers have been making their way towards the surface more, biting on kastmasters, jerk baits or umbrella rigs, and cut bait thought out the day up to 60 feet deep or so. Some anglers have had luck trolling the lake with down riggers or heavy kastmasters and deep diving jerk baits.

Trout have still been caught in deeper water out by the island, Bear Trap and Yellowbar areas of the lake using nightcrawlers and powerboats.

Catfish have also been biting very well lately on chicken liver and cut mackerel on deep drop offs or sandy banks as well hooked up Carolina style.

Water Temperature: 60 degrees
