California - The River is low from Tahoe City to Boca Bridge. The best fishing has been from the confluence of the Little Truckee to the state line where the flows are perfect. Water temperatures have dropped and the fish are getting active. Dead drifting crayfish patterns and October caddis with a smaller dropper like a baetis or any size 14-18 darker bodied nymph has been producing. Flows are: Town of Truckee 40cfs, Boca Bridge 463 cfs, Farad 503 cfs

Nevada - Water temps are cooling and the fall bite is on. Some really big brown\\\\\\\'s have been seen and or caught in the past week or so. This is the time of year to use bigger flies and go for the home run. Big Sculpin patterns as well as muddlers, crayfish and just about anything with rabbit in it are worth a try. Fish the bigger runs and pools early in the morning and late in the day for best results. Nymphing with October caddis and a smaller dropper is also working. Flows are: Mogul 418cfs, Reno 332cfs.
