East Walker River Fish Report- Open year round for catch and release fishing only

Truckee River Outfitters

Report Date:

http://www.truckeeriveroutfitters.com

Flows are fluctuating every couple of days. On Wednesday morning they were 125 CFS. By the afternoon they were 65 CFS. Be sure to check before you go as the irrigation season starts soon and the flows can fluctuate almost daily. If the flows stay the same for a couple of days the fishing has been awesome. Skwala stones have been out in force. The best way to approach the East Walker right now is with a buddy or two rods. Fish each run with a big dry stone in the shallow water and seams. Take three or four casts and then switch over to a nymph rig. Use a stonefly pattern with a smaller dropper like a baetis or a zebra midge. Most anglers spook the dry fly fish when approaching runs. Be stealthy and cast dries into 1 to 3 feet of water. East Walker River Flows
