Catfish have been biting the best over the past week both along the shoreline and throughout the coves of the lake down deep off a variety or cut baits. Chicken liver and mackerel have been the top baits working lately along with sardines and anchovies. Sandy banks and deeper drop offs have been great spots to find the catfish during the heat of the day. No boils have been reported recently but a few stripers have been brought back in by trolling around the lake with umbrella rigs. Deep diving jerk baits would also work well to troll with or lead head with shad style trailers. Bass are still biting along the grasslines during the cooler morning hours on top water baits and various soft plastics throughout the day like senkos, flukes and jigs.
