Most recent reports are that the fishing is slow. The water is cold and we have not had many storms. This usually means that the fish are in deeper warmer water. Most of this water can not be reached from shore or from a ladder. This is a typical pattern for early February. A storm or two and some warmer weather can change fishing overnight. The best times to go is early or late. Cloudy days are also a good time to try it. Look for fishing to improve dramatically over the next few weeks as the weather warms. Slow stripping wooly worms and beatles with a shooting head in deeper water is how most anglers are catching fish on a fly rod.
