BREAKING NEWS: SPICER IS NOW OPEN TO BOAT TRAFFIC.
Highland Lakes is now open.  It was closed earlier due to the Donnels Fire
You must have a fire permit to burn your campfire.  They are available at any of the USFS stations. The Hathaway Pines Station is open Monday thru Friday 8 to 5, and Saturday 8 to 2. You can contact them at 209-795-1381. Lake Alpine Ranger Station is open Thursday thru Monday.  The phone number for Lake Alpine Ranger Station is 209-753-2811.  Please be extra careful with your fires as we are coming into our FIRE SEASON.  WARNING EXTREME FIRE CONDITIONS.
Our North Fork Of The Stanislaus was planted by our Calaveras County Fish And Game Comission. We are very excited to see our county come through for us.  Thanks to all the people that made this plant possible.
The East Fork Of The Carson has been excellent fishing due to recent trout plants, with quite a few fish in the  three to four pound range.  You can check the flows of our rivers by going to dreamflows.com.
Lake Alpine has been kicking out some big rainbows lately due to the plants by The Alpine Fish and Game Commission.  The lake level is too low to launch a boat except for Kayak, canoe, float tube or pontoon boat. Please use caution.
Plan to purchase your fishing license ahead of time.  We are the only retailer on the Highway 4 corridor that sell them and never know when our machine could go down.

Water levels are too low to launch a boat.  Bait casters should try using Berkley Power Eggs, Berkely Garlic Scented Power Bait, Corn Scented Power Bait, Salmon Egg Scent Red Power Bait, Mice Tails, and try floating a nightcrawler using either a marshmallow, Power Egg, or inflate the worm.  Fish these all on a sliding sinker rig.  Fly casters should try sparrow nymphs, stone fly nymphs, wooly buggers, and bead head nymphs.  Lure fishermen should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin Spinners. ......
